HMP Lowdham Grange is located in Lowdham, Nottingham; and is a category B closed training prison, holding adult males. It was privately constructed and is still privately managed by Serco. Here’s some facts about Lowdham Prison

HMP Lowdham Grange is a category B men’s prison in Lowdham, Nottinghamshire. Opened in 1998, privately owned by Serco since its opening, the prison has capacity to hold 888 male inmates.

There are five house blocks comprising 14 residential wings – four each on house blocks 1 and 2 and two each on house blocks 3, 4 and 5. There is also a reintegration unit.

Ten students from Nottingham Trent University visited HMP Lowdham Grange prison every Wednesday afternoon from January to March in 2017. The project was designed to promote learning together with both students and prisoners set to debate against each other. “It is not a ‘formal’ qualification, but the hope is that the learning space enables the HMP learners to think further about these transitions, thus giving them the relevant skills and knowledge.”

On the 4th of May 2017, Lowdham Grange donated £16,735.50 to Victim Support. The amount was raised by 50p deductions from prisoners’ wages of over £25 per week.
