HMP Oakington was officially closed in 2010. Prior to its closure, it was run by the UK Border Agency and employed approximately 200 people from private company G4S, in addition to approximately 100 sub-contracted staff. The facility was originally only designed to be a temporary facility and was only functional for ten years in total. If you’d like to visit the former prison, please refer to the map on this page.
