Prison Phone have been saving inmates at HMP Bure money on their calls from the prison to any UK mobile phone since 2013.

We do this by allocating a dedicated and secure local number to your mobile phone, this means when the inmate at Bure prison calls the new local number we have provided they will be charged at just the local landline rate (around 10p per minute) rather than the standard mobile rate (which is around 40p per minute).

This in turn helps to stretch the inmates PINS phone credit further and reduces the amount you need to send in for them to top up!

Here’s some facts about Bure Prison

HMP Bure is a category C prison in Badersfield, near Norwich. It holds up to 624 male prisoners on an old RAF base (RAF Coltishall). Built in 2009, the prison was opened in November ready to accept sex offenders.

The prison was praised in the latest inspection report, as it is said “Bure is unquestionably a safe prison”

There are seven residential units comprising mostly single cells. Five units each have four double cells totalling 20 across the prison. All cells have a personal safe and integral sanitation. Each unit has communal showers.

A rapist held for life at Bure managed to write and publish an article into the “lonely hearts” section of a newspaper, and included the exact address of the prison. He wrote, under the name “Biker Bloké”: “45, Stocky build, serving life in prison, looking for penfriend, interests are live music, camping & rallies. Write to Jason O’Dell, A7324AR, HMP Bure, Norwich, Norfolk, NR10 5GB”

Visiting hours are between 9:30-11:30 (Weekends only) and 14:00-16:00 (Fri, Sat, Sun)
