Here’s some facts about Glenochil Prison
HMP Glenochil is a male’s prison in Tullibody, Clackmannashire. Opened in 1966, the prison has capacity to hold 670 inmates of all three security classifications (High, Medium and Low).
The accommodation, built in 2010, consists of two main blocks: Abercrombie and Harviestoun Halls; and a Separation and Reintegration Unit (SRU): Devon Hall.
A new visitors center was added, and opened on the 10th August 2017. This is the start of the Scottish government’s investment of £1.8 million into improving the visiting opportunities and the frequency of visits, as well as increasing provisions of visiting centers as a way of mitigating the negative impact parental imprisonment can have on children.
