HMP Highpoint actually consists of two prisons; Highpoint North and Highpoint South. Both are category C men’s prisons in Suffolk, and although they are technically classified as two separate prisons, they share many services; notably a single reception, which is located at HMP Highpoint South. Combined, their capacity is 1,323. The prison opened in 1973 and the two sections formally separated in 2001.

Here’s some facts about Highpoint Prison
HMP Highpoint is a category C prison in Stradishall, Suffolk. Opened in 1975, the prison has capacity to hold 1,373 men. Formally, the prison is actually two separate prisons, Highpoint North and Highpoint South. The prisons share many facilities, most notably a reception.
Highpoint South is made of units U1-U0. Tempest unit (U1/U2 ) accommodates 248 prisoners, and is divided into four units. Integrated drug treatment system prisoners are located on two of the wings and another one is enhanced. Javelin (U3) accommodates a further 112 prisoners in a standard unit. Wellington (U4) is the induction unit, accommodating 148 prisoners.Handley (U5) is a standard unit. It accommodates 120 prisoners. Vickers (U6) accommodates 40 enhanced prisoners. Includes category D outworkers. Halifax (U7) accommodates 40 enhanced prisoners, also including category D outworkers. Blenheim (U8) accommodates 120 prisoners. Vulcan (U9) accommodates 64 enhanced prisoners Lancaster (U10) accommodates 64 prisoners. Stirling (Segregation) Accommodates up to 17 prisoners
Highpoint North contains U11-U15. Lysander (U11) Accommodates 69 enhanced prisoners. Hawker (U12) and Dorminie (U13) accommodate 69 standard prisoners, and Gloster (U14) and Meteor (U15) accommodate 80 standard prisoners.
