Prison Phone have been saving inmates at HMP Whatton money on their calls from the prison to any UK mobile phone since 2013.

We do this by allocating a dedicated and secure local number to your mobile phone, this means when the inmate at Whatton prison calls the new local number we have provided they will be charged at just the local landline rate (around 10p per minute) rather than the standard mobile rate (which is around 40p per minute).

This in turn helps to stretch the inmates PINS phone credit further and reduces the amount you need to send in for them to top up!

Here’s some facts about Whatton Prison

HMP Whatton is a category C male’s prison in Whatton, Nottinghamshire. Opened in 1966, the prison has capacity to hold 841 inmates.

A wings 1-8 are new residential wings with more modern cells. The segregation unit is in A3. B wings 1 and 2 are former dormitories with cubicles, and B3 has another 35 cells. C wings 1-3 are modular units: C2 is low security, and C3 is double accommodation.

Inmates here could sue for up to £5000 if they conceived a diarrhoea and vomiting bug in July 2017, which is thought to be thought to be food poisoning from a chicken meal. Staff and Public Health England could control the bug. Another theory states the bug could be transferred via contaminated food or water.
